The National Prayer Breakfast 2019
READING TIME: 36 MINUTES
The following are the notes to the discussion found at this link (https://www.facebook.com/tammy.cheetham.77/videos/571529260013453/?id=100014819433180) for anyone who would like to study the subject more in depth.
Yes, we wanted to discuss the National Prayer Breakfast that was held on Feb. 7. You know, sister Tammy, a major problem with these prayer breakfasts is most people don’t stop to consider whether their attendance at such events pleases God. They don’t even stop and question whether God listens to prayers at these events because they just assume all prayer is a wonderful thing, but by the end of this discussion we pray people will understand that this prayer breakfast is just another tool Satan is using as he lays the foundation for the one world religion.
Here is some information about the national prayer breakfasts from the Intercessors for America website (https://www.ifapray.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/OWIW-2-7-19-FINAL.pdf).
[Today, February 7, 2019], more than 3,500 political leaders, military chiefs and corporate moguls meet for eggs, sausage, muffins –and prayer. The Washington, D.C. gathering, the 66th National Prayer Breakfast, is an opportunity for new friends and old associates, from 50 states and 140 countries, to break bread and forge fellowship in Jesus’ name. Convened on the first Thursday in February, the gathering, known as the Presidential Prayer Breakfast until 1970, has always included the American head of state. (But, as we will see in this discussion it is mentioned that Catholics, Jews, and Muslims attended this breakfast. True believers will not forge fellowships with members of such religions).
President Dwight Eisenhower began the tradition with the first breakfast in 1953. While Eisenhower was initially wary of attending a prayer breakfast, evangelist Billy Graham convinced him it was the right move. (Well, Billy Graham could well be designated the most ecumenical “evangelist” the world has ever seen. We don’t have time to discuss this, but I will include the link for a discussion we had concerning him (https://www.facebook.com/tammy.cheetham.77/videos/257249564774759/). There are many quotes and examples in this source that show his ties to Rome).
Continuing from the Intercessors for America website: The National Prayer Breakfast has grown steadily over the years –from 400 attendees to close to 4,000. The presence of the U.S. president has made the event a draw for leaders worldwide and networking before and after the breakfast…There is a wide diversity among breakfast attendees. Just as speakers have become more diverse, so have attendees. There are Muslims and Jews as well as Christians of all stripes. (You know, many people want to insist that the United States is a Christian nation, but here is one of many examples showing it is not. I mean, the Congress hosts an event, with prayer as its focus, and people from other religions are present? I will just state that this is completely unscriptural and, sister Tammy, you will be addressing this is depth when you share about Pres. Trump’s speech at this breakfast).
Now here is some more information from another link with the Intercessors for America: (https://www.ifapray.org/blog/intercede-national-prayer-breakfast-thursday-feb-8/)
The event is hosted by the U.S. Congress and organized by the Christian organization, The Fellowship Foundation, and comprises of luncheons, dinners, and meetings. Several guest speakers participate in the event, including a prestigious keynote speaker who is undisclosed until the breakfast. Previous speakers include Mother Teresa (1994), Bono (2006), Tony Blair (2009), Dr. Ben Carson (2013), and Barry Black (2017). (These examples of speakers show this event has been ecumenical for quite some time. Obviously, Mother Teresa was a Catholic; Bono may be considered a Christian by some, but we have seen pictures of him wearing a headband with the Coexist logo; Tony Blair was an Anglican, but converted to Catholicism in 2007 which was two years before he spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast; and, then, Dr. Ben Carson is SDA, as is Barry Black).
How did this begin? Norwegian immigrant and Methodist minister Abraham Vereide was dedicated to addressing the issue of poverty and wanted to gather and pray with local businessmen and politicians before heading to work. In 1942, when Vereide moved to Washington, DC, he initiated these prayer groups with members of Congress, until it grew to include the President and other national and international leaders.” (Well, straight away we see the roots of this event are tied in with the social gospel, rather than the true gospel. This Methodist minister wanted to address the issue of poverty rather than addressing the issue of lost souls. Jesus said the poor you will always have with you, as recorded in Matt. 26:11, which doesn’t mean we wouldn’t help poor people when we could, but where is the focus? On this life or the next? And, this Methodist minister didn’t seem to have any problem praying with those whose beliefs he did not know, and/or those who may not have been Christians. And, so this practice has carried on until present times with the same unbiblical foundation, except that we have the added problem of an emphasis on ecumenism in the “church” world today, and many attend who have the label of Christian, but are not.
Now, we know many people are excited about President Trump. One reason they are excited is because they were fed the line that Hillary Clinton basically was going to abolish Christianity and now, look, we have a President who staunchly defends it. But, first of all, what kind of Christianity does he defend, because it’s not biblical. And, then, what many people don’t seem to want to address is having a nation which offers religious freedom means people have the right to worship any false god they choose! So, this country tolerates and allows all kinds of false pagan practices and religions and then people have the nerve to call this a Christian nation? This makes no sense!
And, we can see where this concept of religious liberty has taken us. Supposedly, we have to allow for any ungodly, despicable speech against the one, true God; any satanic ritual or depiction; any beliefs that fly in the face of God’s Word, so that as true Christians we have the freedom to spread the gospel. Well, that is a load of rubbish and totally against God’s Word. For just one example, let’s read Deut. 12:3: “And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.” So, that is what God thinks about the toleration of false gods!)
Now, with some of this background in mind let’s discuss a few of the speakers and what they had to say at this year’s breakfast. We don’t have time to mention all of the speakers, but I believe the listeners will understand the problems with the event as we mention a good number of them.
Just to note, Sen. James Lankford who is Baptist, and Sen. Chris Coons who is a Presbyterian, but attends St. Ann’s Catholic church in Wilmington, DE, with his wife who is a Catholic, are the co-chairmen for the prayer breakfast.
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFGYkFgYcIk) We will begin with Sen. James Lankford welcoming the guests and mentioning some notable ones. He said there were three heads of state present. One was Hashim Thaci, the president of Kosovo, who is Muslim. Also, Ilir Meta, the president of Albania, who is also a Muslim. The third head of state was Nana Akuffo Addo, president of Ghana, who says he was raised as a Presbyterian. Interestingly, in an article from June 16, 2018 he noted that as part of Eid celebrations, “many Muslim homes (in Ghana) will play host to Christian neighbours and friends, as we all eat and drink and share in the glory of God.” Eid is the religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan. (https://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/Don-t-take-Muslim-Christian-bonds-for-granted-Akufo-Addo-660565#) (And, that reminds us of Pres. Trump having this same celebration with a group of Muslims at the White House. So, two of the three heads of state are Muslims, yet Sen. Lankford and all the other speakers and those who prayed have no problem with this. And, then Pres. Addo of Ghana says, speaking of Muslims and Christians, “as we all eat and drink and share in the glory of God” so he obviously thinks they worship the same God. And, then many calling themselves praise this prayer breakfast. Go figure).
Next, Senator Lankford mentions some of the Cabinet members who are present and one I want to highlight is Ben Carson as we mentioned already who is a Seventh Day Adventist. Then, Senator Coons mentions some of those seated at the head table. One is Sen. Jacky Rosen and he described her as a person of deep faith who had served as the president of the largest synagogue in the state of Nevada. He said she would be sharing a reading from the book of Isaiah. Next, he mentioned Manuel Espina, Guatemala’s ambassador to the US. Just to mention, Espina founded Guatemala Prospera. This organization’s goal is to instill moral and cultural values in Guatemalans, based on the teachings of American evangelical pastor John Maxwell. Guatemala Prospera sponsors a prayer breakfast, similar to the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast. (http://www.allgov.com/news/top-stories/guatemalas-ambassador-to-the-united-states-who-is-manuel-espina-171122?news=860370) (Well, John Maxwell was a pastor at one time, but he has been a “Christian” motivational speaker basically for many years now and has appeared on Joyce Meyer’s program several times so he would not be a good choice if one is looking for guidance).
Now, I will go on to mention various speakers and their comments or prayers and some other statements by Senators Lankford and Coons.
Senator Lankford: We’re grateful to be in a country that sees religious liberty as a basic human right; that every person has the right to choose any faith they want to choose; to be able to change their faith; or, to be able to have no faith at all. We honor that as a basic human dignity. We want to be able to help encourage other people around the world to also take on that basic human right and value. He says there is a copy of the gospels at each table and if they’re not familiar with the story of Jesus that book is there so you can know the great story of Jesus. We gather together at this time under the spirit of Jesus understanding there are many faiths that are here, but we want everyone to be able to have the information and know the teachings of Jesus as well. (Well, obviously, people do have the right to choose their faith. And, we realize some people will think it’s awesome that the Muslims and Jews and so forth in attendance had the opportunity to receive a copy of the gospels. But, it is of real concern that Sen. Lankford would say they gathered together under the spirit of Jesus when they were praying with members of other religions. Such a promotion of false unity is absolutely dangerous).
Sen. Chris Coons said: “Every week two dozen Senators meet to pray, sing a hymn, and listen to each other’s faith journeys…we don’t all come from the same faith traditions but we respect each other…this breakfast has always been a moment of unity and healing to counteract the division…Jesus said when I am lifted up I will draw all people to myself and that is exactly the spirit we are experiencing together. All kinds of people with the same focus.”
And, I want to insert some information from an article at Time. com before I comment on Sen. Coons’ statements. “Coons and Lankford, who will be officially named co-chairs on Thursday, have been leading the weekly Wednesday morning Senate Prayer Breakfast for the current 115th Congress. Most Wednesday mornings at 8:30 a.m., a group of senators gathers to pray in a yellow room near the Capitol’s carriage house entrance. Democrats such as Coons and Tim Kaine of Virginia, and Republicans Lankford, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Johnny Isakson of Georgia, Deb Fischer of Nebraska, and Ted Cruz of Texas attend when they can. Participation is private, but Lankford and Coons say about the same number of Democrats attend as Republicans.” http://time.com/5137579/national-prayer-breakfast-lankford-coons/ Just to note, Tim Kaine is a Catholic. Tom Cotton and Johnny Isakson are Methodists. Deb Fischer is a Presbyterian and Ted Cruz is a Baptist.
Asked to name the most unifying figure currently in their own party, Coons said Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia. In fact Tim Kaine had been the co-chair of the weekly Senate Prayer Breakfast before he was tapped as Hillary Clinton’s running mate in the 2016 election. (https://religionnews.com/2019/01/29/in-polarized-washington-a-democrat-anchors-bipartisan-friendships-in-faith/) (Sister Tammy, you and I have both read posts and articles about the prayer meetings and the prayer breakfasts on Capitol Hill and we have seen that most people are excited about these events. But, we notice here that one of the regular attendees and a past co-chair of the weekly Senate Prayer Breakfast is a Catholic so these breakfasts are ecumenical events. And, I don’t know how many people realize that every Senate session is opened with prayer by the Senate chaplain, who currently is Barry Black, as I said already is a follower of Seventh Day Adventism. (https://www.senate.gov/reference/office/chaplain.htm) In addition, the sessions for the House of Representatives are also opened in prayer by their chaplain, who currently is Rev. Patrick J. Conroy, S.J., which stands for the Society of Jesuits. So, let that one sink in for a minute. (https://chaplain.house.gov/archive/index.html; https://chaplain.house.gov/chaplaincy/index.html) And, something else hardly anyone notices is that the Congress includes Catholics, Buddhists, Mormons, Jews, Hindus, and Muslims. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/jan/3/religious-makeup-of-115th-congress/ So, the summation of all this information is that a lot of prayer is occurring in the US States’ government, but almost all of it is absolutely ecumenical!)
And, just a few more statements from Sen. Lankford: “Usually our faith conversations are private. Sometimes we do them in a public dialogue. That’s the great thing about having this kind of religious liberty; that we can both have a faith and live our faith out publicly. All of us are on a spiritual journey of some type; it’s interesting to me to have dialogue with other members of the Senate…Each of us have a spot in our own spiritual life to be able to pause, where we can go and think about something bigger than ourselves…there is something larger and bigger than all of us or any one of us. It is a God who loves us and cares about us and our daily lives…when we gather together on Wednesday mornings early to be able to pray and read scripture and be able to encourage each other, it’s just a simple dialogue. If something like this doesn’t happen where you’re from, start it. You can get that going. (So, he thinks the great thing about religious liberty is that we can have a faith and live it out publicly. But, again, the concept of religious liberty allows those of any faith to live it out publicly which means those who follow idolatrous, pagan religions can have their places of worship, they can promote their deities, they can proselytize, activities which are all a stench in the nostrils of the one, true God. Then, he’s encouraging all the people there if these things don’t happen where they are, start it? No, no).
Next, I want to mention Mo Anderson who is described as a Christian author, businesswoman and philanthropist. She began by reading 2 Chron. 7:14. Since we hear this quoted so often I want to take a minute to discuss it. (A study of this verse in context indicates that the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14 is based on the covenant between God and Israel; it is not based on God and any other nation or people. While other nations have had a Christian influence, Israel is the only nation that can be designated as God’s people. Christians are indeed God’s people, but not as a nation. Additionally, there are no scriptures in the New Testament that give us any clue that if we humble ourselves and repent that God will give us a nation governed by biblical laws and leaders. In fact, in the New Testament, in the early church, the exact opposite happened. The more the church prayed, humbled itself, and spread the gospel, the more they were persecuted. And, is there any record of them quoting 2 Chronicles 7:14 as God’s promise to them? No! We are not looking to make things better now and, as Christians, we don’t have land here that needs to be healed. We are looking for a city whose Builder and Maker is God!)
And, then she said the following: “At the founding of our nation, Lord, we received Your blessing and Your guidance through leaders who openly proclaimed Your Name…We pray for a bold new voice in our leaders that will recognize who You really are…We know governments rise and fall when they turn away from You…Place on the hearts of our leaders a conviction to guard our freedoms so that each citizen may pursue their individual purpose.” (Well, again, with the fallacy that the United States began as a Christian nation. There is much documentation to show that while many of the Founding Fathers did mention God and quote scriptures in their private correspondence, some of these same men were actually deists and freemasons. (And, then she says, “We know governments rise and fall when they turn away from You,” but how many governments have recognized the One True God? So that statement doesn’t make any sense).
Gary Haugen delivered the keynote address. He is the CEO and founder of International Justice Mission, and he urged the nation’s political leaders to unite in fighting modern slavery, emphasizing that "even in this divided era, there is good that we all agree should be done."
“Modern slavery is as vast and brutal as it has ever been,” he said, pointing out that there are an estimated 40 million people currently enslaved around the world. (https://www.christianpost.com/news/national-prayer-breakfast-keynote-dont-let-tribal-divisions-stop-you-from-pursuing-the-good.html)
At one of the links of the website for International Justice Mission we read: “Every day, countless people are sold into slavery, as slave owners make a profit off their misery. International Justice Mission is a global organization with a plan to eliminate the slave trade everywhere. We've rescued more than 45,000 people from slavery and other forms of violence.” https://www.ijm.org/our-work (Now, this organization was founded in 1999. I don’t mean to sound critical because I am sure Gary Haugen means well and is truly sincere, but this is not a problem that mankind will be able to solve. Think about it. His organization has been in operation for 20 years. They’ve rescued 45, 000 people which is 0.1125 or one thousand, one hundred twenty five ten-thousandth(s) of the 40 million enslaved. I mean we’re not even talking close to one percent. And, they state that countless numbers of people are sold into slavery each day. Now, I know someone is thinking that at least they’re trying, but I searched their website and I didn’t see anything about them being committed to sharing the gospel with those who are rescued. So, ultimately what are they accomplishing when they rescue people from slavery, but don’t share about Jesus?)
Now, his speech gave many more points, but that is all I am going to share concerning him. We want to have time to discuss Pres. Trump’s speech and why we do not pray with those of other religions, and sister Tammy, would you share what you have prepared at this time, please?
Trump begins by saying he was honored to be here with leaders from around the world all united by a shared belief – in the glory of God and the power of prayer. Muslims and Christian are in attendance. Trump says Catholics are in attendance, also evangelicals and those of the Jewish faith.
Betsy DeVos also was in attendance and she is the Secretary of Education. And, I would just like to share a Facebook post I did about the problems with this lady. People in the American government claiming to be Christians are generally misled about what true Christianity is, otherwise they would come out and be separate. Betsy DeVos has funded and attends false churches, Willow Creek Association from 1999-2014 where she gave these heretics 6.8M and Mars Hill Bible Church 5.6M in the same time period! She believes education will bring about the Kingdom of God, um no, sorry, the Gospel alone is the solution, the education system, even a so-called godly education this lady promotes would lead people to accept the emergent church beliefs we see these heretics promoting and she must be okay with it to fund it and attend. Birds of a feather flock together. Sad times, but please do not believe everything that labels itself Christian. Check the source. There is still one way - Jesus!
Trump thanked her for being at the breakfast. Then, the State of the Union was mentioned – many ecumenical problems and issues with this and would advise people to check this out for themselves with the mind of Christ because much is leading here again to the one world religion.
Trump stated that it is amazing what we can do if we follow the path of co-operation, compromise and common good. America being number one, people love our country and love our faith – again we have to make sure to see what faith actually is being portrayed here in a nation that allows freedom of speech to lift up false religions and worship of other gods, one that allows for gay marriage, that allows for abortion in some instances, that calls itself Christian, but really isn’t. Even though there are true believers in America it still doesn’t make it a Christian nation.
Donald Trump mentioned Roosevelt saying led our nation in prayer and a prayer that was speaking of our religion, speaking again of America’s religion, which is constantly referred to as though it is Christian.
Franklin Roosevelt – “No greater thing could come to our land today than a revival of the spirit of religion—a revival that would sweep through the homes of the Nation and stir the hearts of men and women of all faiths to a reassertion of their belief in God and their dedication to His will for themselves and for their world. I doubt if there is any problem—social, political or economic—that would not melt away before the fire of such a spiritual awakening.” (Radio Address on Brotherhood Day; February 23, 1936)
“The Almighty God has blessed our land in many ways. He has given our people stout hearts and strong arms with which to strike mighty blows for freedom and truth. He has given to our country a faith which has become the hope of all peoples in an anguished world. So we pray to Him now for the vision to see our way clearly—to see the way that leads to a better life for ourselves and for all our fellow men—to the achievement of His will to peace on earth.” (Fourth Inaugural Address; January 20, 1945)
“Even in time of war those nations which still hold to the old ideals of Christianity and democracy are carrying on services to humanity which have little or no relationship to torpedoes or guns or bombs. That means very definitely that we have an abiding faith in the future—a definite expectancy that we are going to win through to a peace that will bring with it continuing progress and substantial success in our efforts for the security and not for the destruction of humanity.” (Radio Address on the President’s Sixtieth Birthday; January 30, 1942)
Trump states when we open our hearts to faith we fill our hearts to love, but what kind of faith again is he meaning here when he seems very confused about the faith once delivered to the saints. We fight the good fight of THE FAITH – Meaning not fluffy bunnies with other faiths but exposing the darkness and revealing the light of truth through God’s Word. Trump has a faith that includes all religions sadly.
America believes in redemption – transforming lives, healing communities and lift up the forgotten – goes on to say some in this room are amongst the Muslim and Christian religion, these leaders partnered to send meals to Somalia and we can see this is just encouraging people it is okay to work together in an act of helping others, while we never say it is wrong to help others but what message is being given in this address overall? Also in attendance were Catholics, evangelicals and members of the Jewish faith who help build homes for citizens through Habitat for Humanity, so here again lifting up these works as though they are all done by the God they serve and makes it seem that all religions are okay as long as they are doing good works, but our good works do not lead us to God – JESUS does.
It’s more about anyone he says is a believer that helps the nation or community – a social gospel which is none – what does he exactly mean when he says believer when these can all pray together to the god they all supposedly have which is impossible because God is not the Father of the Muslim people, Catholic people and the Judaizers with another jesus!
He goes on to talk about his administration protecting religious liberty, but again this gives a wide open door for false faiths to promote their heresies. He doesn’t care what faith so-called which people have as long as they all come together and help solve the problems in this world.
Trump spoke about the Buck Family who adopted three children and then went on to speak about the Michigan Adoption Charity that brought the Buck family together, he said they were Catholic and were in court for living by the values of their Catholic faith which Trump was behind and very supportive of. We will always protect our country’s long and proud tradition of faith-based adoption. Again faith, but what faith?!
His administration is working to ensure faith-based adoption agencies helping children to be able to find their forever families while also following their deeply held beliefs.
Spoke about children being made in the holy image of God; every life sacred and soul a precious gift from heaven. This is part of the bait he uses to get people on board to listen to the lies he brings in, too.
Children are precious and we do believe precious in the eyes of God. So why does he still allow for abortion in some instances?
He spoke a lot about coming together for the country and being loyal and all to one another no matter what to live in the nation of America where all get along basically. Jesus came with a sword to divide truth from error; not happy all get along in this sin sick world. Of course be at peace with all men as much as it lies with us, but there can be no peace with all religions.
He closed out in saying prayer for peace, all children have safe loving home, safety of citizens, fulfillment of our deepest hopes and hugest potential.
Peace and safety in this world with all this mess are marks of the antichrist system we are warned about in the Bible.
Much of Jesus’ ministry was about confronting the false teaching of the religious leaders. (Matt. 16:11-12; 23:1-39). Matthew 24:4-5 – Jesus warned us. “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Jesus, as we know never told us to pray with false teachers, but rather reprove them and expose them. The fight for unity is actually a false premise and actually bringing dissension to those that are truly saved as they are getting misled by falsehood. The Bible repeatedly warned us not to be deceived. Praying with other religions is not scriptural and the only time we pray with those is when leading one to the Lord by grace through Faith to confess Jesus is Who He says He is on receiving salvation. Now you may say to me that Jesus prayed for the sick and these were not saved, granted, this is so and this was done so that people would recognize He was the Saviour, yet many would get their fill and healing and still turn their backs on Jesus for what He came to them for. Jesus would not have only emphasized on the things of this life and walk away without these people knowing Who He was because the bible tells us He came to save and to seek the lost for eternal life is found in Him. He said what would it profit a man to gain this whole world and lose their very soul?! So we must use proper exegesis when dealing with scripture. Praying WITH anyone that has not the faith in the Jesus of the Bible is not Scriptural unless they are being lead to Christ in repentance and faith. Allowing yourself as a true Believer to join in prayer with unbelievers would communicate your agreement with their faulty understanding of God. Praying WITH and praying FOR are two different things. Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.
The Bible teaching of separation forbids God's people from fellowshipping with error - Galatians 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 11:1-4 Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
There are many other verses of Scripture that I will add with the note on this discussion. (Ephesians 4:14-15; 5:11; Philippians 3:1-2; Colossians 2:8; II Thessalonians 3:6; I Timothy 1:3; 6:3-5; 6:20-21; II Timothy 2:16-21; 3:5,13; Titus 1:10-14; 3:9-11; II Peter 2:1-3; 3:17; 2 John 7-11; Jude 3; Revelation 2:2,6,14-16,20-23; 18:4).
Jesus taught His people to pray "OUR FATHER", so make sure that you are praying with true believers that have the same Father. The Bible never refers to the lost as His children. This whole concept of joining with false religions brings disunity to the body and the thing that gets me is the ones being obedient to expose these errors are the ones being shunned in the name of dissension and described as unloving, judgmental Pharisees! Elijah never joined with false prophets to pray, but rather prayed to the One True God. However, many are even twisting the scriptures and saying we come in the name of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but they do not have the same God. Not all who claim Abraham as their father do have him because they are not in the faith; they do not have the Holy Spirit. As we see in the last days the enemy is going to have power to call even fire down from heaven and mimic with lying signs and wonders to deceive, but be assured that his gospel will not be that of the Word of God, it will be this false unity we are talking about here, one that will lead to joining with other religions, and when he has finished using them he will put them all down so that he gets the attention and worship of the world. This is why we do not unite with Babylon, the world’s system, at all in any spiritual endeavors. We are simply to preach Jesus and what He has done and allow the Holy Spirit to work as we continue to share His Word.
Thank you so much for that information, sister Tammy. We pray so that people’s eyes would be opened.
(I want to mention that Sen. Lankford and Sen. Coons prayed over the president after his speech. Most people lauded this as a wonderful moment of cooperation with a Republican and a Democrat praying over the president and they didn’t pay much attention to what was said in the prayer).
This is part of what Sen. Lankford prayed: "In quiet moments, as he has a gap to be able to think, we pray that You would guide him in the way to go as he leads our nation. Give him the insight that he needs. Give him joy in the task. And use him for Your kingdom's sake and for our nation and the world's sake. In the name of Jesus I ask." (But, it is obvious Sen. Lankford believes the president is a Christian with these statements. We don’t have time to discuss all the problems with such a belief, but I will include the link to our Facebook note entitled “Donald Trump: Deceitful Worker” (https://www.facebook.com/notes/connie-schuetz-wright/donald-trump-a-deceitful-worker/399460637224581/).
And, then, Sen. Coons prayed: “This morning we especially pray for President Trump and we ask that Your wisdom, Your blessing, and Your peace would be upon him and his family as they serve us, and that today You would touch his heart and all who have been with us here this morning at this National Prayer Breakfast. In Jesus' name we pray, amen." (https://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/politics/2019/february/use-him-for-your-kingdoms-sake-this-powerful-prayer-over-president-trump-brought-democrats-and-republicans-together) (And, again, it seems Sen. Coons must believe the president is a Christian as well to have prayed this prayer. But, unbelievers cannot have God’s wisdom, blessing, or peace).
Next, I want to mention that Chris Tomlin provided the music for this event. He has a lot of fans, but most people do not realize he is quite ecumenical and he’s also a dominionist.
For one example: He orchestrated an ecumenical/dominionist event on October 25, 2016 entitled “Worship Night in America.” The event had been previously recorded at Madison Square Garden and was then edited for theaters and non-theatrical venues. At Chris Tomlin’s website for the event people were encouraged to gather in churches, or rent movie theaters, to join in worship together across the country.
At one of his website links we see a list of questions and answers concerning this event. The most troublesome one is as follows and gives the reason why we can label this as an ecumenical event: Question: “What is Worship Night In America: An Evening of Unity and Prayer for our Country?” Answer: “Worship Night In America is a one-night event on Tuesday, October 25 that brings together people from all backgrounds and beliefs to unite around a single purpose: to pray for our country.” (http://www.christomlin.com/faq) (Now, I would like to be able to give the creators of this website the benefit of the doubt and say the statement “from all backgrounds and BELIEFS to unite around a single purpose” was a typo, but considering that two of the musical artists performing with him, Matt Maher and Kim Walker-Smith, are Catholic and NAR/WOF respectively, I have to believe the statement was intentional. Due to the inclusion of these musical artists, many who have similar beliefs surely attended this event. This is a major concern with any large prayer or worship event. True believers should not be in the audience (even via satellite) with Catholics or dominionists or those of any other faith. This is such is a fruitless and idolatrous act).
And, then, on Feb. 7, Tomlin tweeted the following: “Was an incredible honor to lead worship today for the National Prayer Breakfast. Gathered together, with partisan politics aside, for the glory of God. Powerful to pray for awakening in our nation and the world. Over 140 nations gathered this morning in one room.” (http://www.gospelmusic.org/chris-tomlin-performs-at-2019-national-prayer-breakfast/) (But, gathered together for the glory of God with Muslims, Jewish people, and Catholics? So, Chris Tomlin is quite confused, to say the least).
Now, I want to discuss some responses to the National Prayer Breakfast from various sources. The first one is a post on Frances and Friends Facebook page on Feb. 12. Frances and Friends is a program on the Sonlife Broadcasting network which is part of Jimmy Swaggart Minstries. Here is the post: “When President Trump spoke at the 2019 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. last week, he started his remarks by saying, “I will never let you down; I can say that. Never.” The president went on to say, “America is a country that believes in redemption … As president, I will always cherish, honor, and protect the believers who uplift our communities and sustain our nation to ensure that people of faith can always contribute to our society. My administration has taken historic action to protect religious liberty.” I just want to echo what Republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma said when he introduced the president: “We’re grateful for your service.” He tried to say more, but the applause from the audience lasted a long while. The senator mentioned that President Trump was the 12th president to speak at the breakfast, but none, in my opinion, have done more to strengthen the freedom of religion in America than President Trump. The Scripture that Senator Lankford gave that morning was a good one: I Timothy 2:1-2 which says, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” We are praying for you every day, Mr. President, and God won’t let us down. Never.” (Now, while we agree that we should follow the admonition given in these verses we feel that a truly Christian ministry would not promote the National Prayer Breakfast for reasons we have already outlined. Then, the president used the phrase “people of faith” and said he had taken historic action to protect religious liberty. Well, “people of faith” and the idea of religious liberty, again as we’ve already stated, both mean false religions are being supported and promoted. A truly Christian nation would neither tolerate, nor promote, the worship of false gods, plain and simple. And, isn’t it convenient that in this post no mention was made of the fact that there were Muslims and Jews in attendance? They leave that out very conveniently).
This next one is by Steve Shultz who has the Elijah List website and Facebook page which features prophecies by many who have been shown to be false prophets. He states, "I Couldn't Believe it. I Was in the Same BIG Room with President Trump and Vice President Pence!!" Some of you might have seen my Facebook LIVE from that very room, the Washington Hilton Hotel.
I am SO EXCITED for our country, Elijah List readers! We have a president who I firmly believe and know was called by God for this time in our nation.
While most who were in attendance were Christian, there were other religions participating as well. There were Muslims and many from the Jewish Community. There was a strong, STRONG sense of UNITY. Remember, this was only 2 days after State of the Union Address. (http://elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=21584) (But, have people just been so lulled to sleep they cannot see the deception here? You know, he mentioned Muslims and Jews, but said there was a strong sense of unity. There is too much to say concerning Pres. Trump and how so many have been deceived by him and by the “evangelical” leaders supporting him so I will just refer the people back to the link for our Facebook note, “Donald Trump: A Deceitful Worker.” And, then, Steve Shultz who supposedly runs a Christian ministry says there were Muslims and Jews in attendance and he noted a strong sense of unity there and saw nothing wrong with this! But, this shouldn’t surprise us concerning the “prophets and prophecies” that regularly appear on the Elijah List).
Next, I want to mention Franklin Graham’s Facebook post on 2-7-19 which reads: “This morning many of our nation’s leaders in Washington plus others are gathering for the 67th (he should have said 66th)annual National Prayer Breakfast—3,500 people from all 50 states and more than 100 countries will be there! I’m thankful for this bipartisan event in which Democrats, Republicans, and the President come together in agreement. I’m in Australia and won’t be able to be there—but I will be praying!” Along with this statement he posted an article by CBN. (http://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/politics/2019/february/dont-expect-politics-at-this-years-national-prayer-breakfast-the-purpose-is-to-draw-us-towards-the-eternal?fbclid=IwAR3Jlb0R2D7KEx0KJb1EvZ6sjGa4Inpq_TZJBaqPBc0-HyULJfbtPbee1gQ) in which the last sentence states that Senators Coons and Lankford say they hope that as national and world leaders gather in prayer Thursday, there will be unity in focusing on what God leads them to do. (So, Franklin Graham says he will be praying for the prayer breakfast which isn’t surprising because he has no problems with ecumenical and/or interfaith prayer as shown by his statements at a rally for Pres. Trump in Phoenix on Aug. 22 of 2017. He said this, “I have been asked to pray. Now, I know we have many religions; Catholic, I’m a Protestant, we may have Jewish people, Muslims, but I want you to know I don’t know how to pray a generic prayer, like one prayer fits all. I don’t know how to do that. So, if you don’t mind, let me just pray the way my mama taught me. Let us pray.” But, the question must be asked why he thinks it’s all right for him to give the prayer at this event when members of false religions are present? He says, “Let us pray” so the prayer on its face is clearly one of unity. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COz5hwtR8Gg) Another huge concern with him is that he considers Orthodox and Catholic religions to be Christian as evidenced by this statement in an article by CNS news: "Whether you are Protestant, evangelical, Orthodox, Catholic -- all Christians need to get behind him with our prayers," said Graham. (https://www.cnsnews.com/blog/michael-w-chapman/rev-graham-no-president-my-lifetime-has-defended-christian-faith-trump) And, since there is much more that could be said about him, but we don’t have time in this discussion, I will include the link to our Facebook note about him entitled “The Spiritual Implications of Franklin Graham and his Catholic Connections” (https://www.facebook.com/tammy.cheetham.77/videos/406510959848618/)
And, then one more example of responses is from a blog by Ericka Andersen Sylvester entitled, “What I Saw at the National Prayer Breakfast.” She stated that, “It reminded attendees that many Americans, including some of our nation's highest leaders, do believe that we answer to something and someone bigger than ourselves. It was a reminder that most of us have good intentions but perhaps different pathways to freedom, flourishing and faith. (http://www.iwf.org/blog/2808669/What-I-Saw-at-the-National-Prayer-Breakfast-) (Well, there is no such thing as different pathways to true faith and any event leading people to believe there are should absolutely be marked and avoided by any true believer).
Closing remarks by sister Tammy -
These at Frances and Friends are not in the dark about this idea of separation. They’ve done enough exposing on this program with Rick Warren and the P.E.A.C.E. plan, etc. When it seemingly is just convenient they will include these problems so it just shows the pride that is there. Because they must surely know that these things are taking place. But, because they’ve promoted Trump to a level of idolatry, you know, I would say he’s become like an idol, because they would not even expose him with these problems that are taking place in these kinds of endeavors. This shows to me there is a major problem. I’m not trying to be proud or anything, but we did recognize this from the beginning of the election, you know, with the voting process and all of this. So, I would just say to anybody you can see these things over here, but you can’t see this. I just pray the Lord would open your eyes up to the truth. It’s never to be mean to people. But, always because the truth, you know, we fight the good fight of faith. We want souls to be saved and not deceived. Just that people would turn away from the errors that they are getting caught up in and that God would be merciful. He is just and faithful to forgive us. This is the idea of obviously sharing these discussions all the time. Our hearts just want people to be set free, not to be deceived, because eternity matters so much than here and now. So, I just wanted to bring that point up, sister Connie. Obviously I don’t believe they’re unaware of the error that is taken place here because they’ve exposed it in other places. So, this makes it very scary, you know.
