MICHAEL W. SMITH – CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSICAL ARTIST
There were over 300 “faith leaders” who supported Franklin Graham’s Special Day of Prayer for Pres. Trump on June 2. (https://www.facebook.com/notes/connie-schuetz-wright/special-day-of-prayer-june-2-2019/620410158462960/)
I am going to share a series of Facebook posts concerning the ecumenical outlook of some of these “faith leaders.” Many of these are part of the WOF and NAR and preach the false doctrines inherent in these systems so we already know we should not follow their ministries. The examples I will share in these posts, demonstrating their ecumenism, provide even more reasons to mark and avoid them. So many are leading their followers straight to Rome and, sadly, many of their adherents are oblivious to the dangers involved. The groundwork continues to be laid for the one world religion and the one world government, but the Lord says, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” (Rev. 18:4).

Now for the ecumenical examples:
Michael W. Smith performed on the occasion of Pope John Paul II’s visit to Baltimore, MD, in October of 1995. He made the following statement concerning the event: "I believe that this whole thing is to try to bring everybody together. We have to get out of the mentality of, ‘Well, he is Baptist, and we are Catholic.' It is time to stop that, because I believe the Gospel is a very simple message, and we have complicated it." The soundtrack for the movie, “Joshua,” from 2002, features music by Michael W. Smith. This movie is based on a novel written by a Catholic priest and contains a very pro-Catholic storyline. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_(2002_film)

Smith performed at the Together 2016 ecumenical event held at the National Mall in Washington, DC on July 16, 2016. Catholic musician Matt Maher also performed. Organizer Nick Hall made the following statement there: “What a divided nation needs is a united church.”
In addition, Catholic Bishop Robert spoke, along with Catholic leader, Matteo Calisi, who, a few months before, had kissed Lou Engle’s feet at the Azusa 2016 event in an act of reconciliation between evangelicals and Catholics.

In February and March of 2019, Michael W. Smith joined with Matthew West, Matt Maher, and others for the “Roadshow 2019” tour. Matt Maher is a Catholic. (https://michaelwsmith.com/…/michael-w-smith-joins-the-roads…)
