Errors of the Awaken the Dawn Event – Part 1
READING TIME: 29 MINUTES
The following are the notes to the discussion found at this link (https://www.facebook.com/tammy.cheetham.77/videos/301450740354641/?id=100014819433180) for anyone who would like to study the subject more in depth.
As you have stated, sister Tammy, we want to discuss this four-day event called “Awaken the Dawn” which was held Oct. 6-9 on the National Mall in Washington, DC. We are going to split this information into two discussions because there is so much material that needs to be covered. We are going to discuss the event held on Oct. 9, entitled “Rise Up” and that was specifically geared towards women, at a later time.
I would like to begin with a short description of the event from an article in the Journal Times that reads as follows: “The mall was filled with tents, worship music and prayer. The purpose of the event, according to organizer Lou Engle, was to “gather around Jesus,” to pray for the nation and its government. (http://journaltimes.com/opinion/columnists/how-a-growing-christian-movement-is-seeking-to-change-america/article_04f4fa3d-822c-5764-8944-95a601092ebc.html)
In addition we read this from Charisma News: “For years, Christian leaders like David Bradshaw (the event organizer) and his friend Lou Engle, who runs "The Call" events, have been receiving prophecies that they'd be involved in a national gathering like this on the Mall.
Bradshaw recalls an elder brother prophesying, "You're going to be part of a new Jesus Movement. It's a Holy Spirit Woodstock."
"Our prayer really is that a whole generation, young and old, in America would have a fresh encounter with Jesus' person," Bradshaw told CBN News. "And that's right at the core of our message, is that we want to call America back to Christ." (https://www.charismanews.com/us/67629-karen-wheaton-circuit-riders-to-awaken-the-dawn-with-holy-spirit-woodstock-beginning-today)
(I will be sharing some information about David Bradshaw and Lou Engle later in the discussion so I won’t say anything about them right now, but at this point I do want to say I think describing any event as a “Holy Spirit Woodstock” is despicable. Most people, I believe, would have heard of Woodstock as being described as “3 days of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.” Believers who have actually read details concerning this event would know right away that to connect this event to anything of Jesus is ridiculous. Now someone is probably thinking, come on now, you can’t make such a big deal about it basically being nicknamed the “Holy Spirit Woodstock.” But, I would say, and I know you would agree, sister Tammy, that it is imperative that we pay attention to all the details. The enemy is coming as an angel of light and deceiving many and we must be vigilant. Plain and simple, there are evil spirits attached to things the enemy is using to deceive the masses and here is an example: As I said, some may think it’s not such a big deal to call this the “Holy Spirit Woodstock,” but I think this was definitely inspired by Satan. Besides the lascivious nature of the event it is important to note that a man named Swami Satchidananda gave the opening address at Woodstock).
Swami Satchidananda was an Indian religious teacher, spiritual master, and the founder of Integral Yoga®. He is considered to be one of the most revered Yoga masters of our time. He dedicated his life to peace—both for the individual and for the world. He blended the physical discipline of Yoga, the spiritual philosophy of India, and an innovative interfaith approach that promoted harmony among all faith traditions. Swami Satchidananda said this about integral yoga: "The goal of Integral Yoga, and the birthright of every individual, is to realize the spiritual unity behind all the diversities in the entire creation and to live harmoniously as members of one universal family.” (http://swamisatchidananda.org/)
(With this idea of spiritual unity being spread through the practice of yoga we can easily see why Satan would have engineered its widespread use throughout America with many in the modern church practicing “Christian yoga” which is, of course, an oxymoron).
Here are the opening statements by the Swami at Woodstock: “My Beloved Brothers and Sisters: I am overwhelmed with joy to see the entire youth of America gathered here in the name of the fine art of music. In fact, through the music, we can work wonders. Music is a celestial sound and it is the sound that controls the whole universe. Sound energy, sound power, is much, much greater than any other power in this world. (http://swamisatchidananda.org/woodstock-guru/):
(Now, I find it hilarious that he used the phrase the “fine art of music” when the primary type of music played at Woodstock was acid and psychedelic rock. But, be that as it may, it is interesting to note the emphasis on what can only be termed as rock music at this “Awaken the Dawn” event just as we see at “Christian” concerts with Hillsong, etc. In addition, there was quite a bit of native American style drumming. Here is a quote and I will include the link in the facebook note of this discussion for anyone who would like to study this further). But, the quote is, “any well-researched book about the history and origins of the rock and roll beat will tell you that its rhythmical style is derived from the beat of the ritual Voodoo dances of Africa.” (http://amazingdiscoveries.org/S-deception-music_beat_voodoo_rave)
Another statement the Swami made was: “Just yesterday I was in Princeton, at Stony Brook in a monastery, where about two hundred or three hundred Catholic monks and nuns met and they asked me to talk to them under the heading of “East and West—One Heart.” (I find this statement interesting because every single one of the main speakers at this event has an ecumenical bent, especially concerning Catholicism and we will discuss this more later).
And, then, toward the end of the Swami’s talk he led the crowd in chanting “hari om” repetitively. (Well, as many different articles say, but I just chose one from changing minds. org), “People dancing in clubs commonly go into trance-like states. Music, rhythm and repetition have a hypnotic effect that can lull people into following a pattern in unthinking ways.” (http://changingminds.org/principles/repetition.htm)
(And, here are two examples from Awaken the Dawn which use this same principle: One is a video on facebook of people in one of the tents on the mall singing “united we stand” over and over. Now, the video only plays for one minute and 14 seconds, but obviously they could have sung longer than that. And, even that amount of time is too long singing the same phrase over and over). (https://www.facebook.com/bigbudde/videos/10103323632585794/)
(Another example is one of the groups performing onstage at the event. The group is Lindy Conant and the Circuit Riders. They have a song entitled, “Every Nation, Every Soul” and it has about eight different lines and these are repeated over and over for seven minutes when you look the song up on Youtube. When they played it at Awaken the Dawn they had some variations, adding in other lines like “Your Kingdom reigns” but mainly they sang “Every Nation, Every Soul, and Jesus, You, You’re Worth it all” over and over). (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJGmz4fSWQM)
(And, while some may still find it odd to emphasize this “Holy Spirit Woodstock” point, I don’t believe it is a minor point or coincidence at all that it was called this. I truly believe this nickname has an unholy spiritual significance. It is not a coincidence that five different news articles I saw from different sources used this phrase, and there may have been more, of course. These articles appeared on sites many follow to keep up with events in the modern church world such as Charisma, CBN, and Elijah List. Why did those reporting on “Awaken the Dawn” at these sites think it was okay to associate what they would refer to as a “Christian gathering” with Woodstock?)
Well, moving along now to some other points. The main speakers at this event are ecumenical and they believe in Dominion Theology. When I say ecumenical I am specifically referring to a connection many of them have with Catholics. We have discussed Catholicism, ecumenism, and dominionism many times in these discussions and I am going to put some links to these discussions and articles we have from our website in the note I will post on facebook concerning this discussion. We have stated many times that if something doesn’t have the foundation of Jesus Christ, what He came to accomplish for us, His death and resurrection, then we should avoid it. And, this doesn’t mean just as long as it’s mentioned and then we can add whatever else we want.
Concerning ecumenism true believers should not have any ecumenical associations when it comes to things of the Lord. This doesn’t mean you cannot work with people of other faiths at a secular job, but when we bring God into the picture we must be separate. For example, true believers will not attend a March for Life event, as we have discussed before, because they will have worship music playing and some will pray from the stage. (Sister Tammy, could you share what you have prepared concerning remaining separate at this time?)
(I would just like to share some scriptures on the things we have discussed in the past such as Dominionism, Ecumenism and Catholicism, these other gospels that are being portrayed and how we are, as believers to remain separate. As you have already stated about remaining separate in these spiritual endeavors and certainly we are to. Even in some other situations we need to be led by the Holy Spirit with each circumstance, even it could be a job or something that would include joining in with ecumenical ties because of the nature of the role.
We cannot just avoid everybody in this world that has another faith, but we are not to join in worshipping or praying etc. but depending on what situation is we are to just remain led by the Spirit. We do not join in with anyone partaking of the mass as many have been deceived to think they can because we do certainly take communion, but this is not the same as mass according to Catholicism and the obvious errors with Mary and the Eucharist, etc. Many have twisted this to say we can all join in because it is all meaning the same thing just a different way to look to Jesus, but through all this we have another doctrine.
Just going back to the scriptures, what does the Bible say about joining with those that have another doctrine? God does not leave error undone because of where this can lead. We cannot all just join in with everything and everyone thinking that it doesn’t really matter as long as we all just get along and then push doctrine to the side, etc. The Holy Spirit is not in this; this is not the voice of the Holy Spirit to say push doctrine to side and join in. He works in Truth.
I will share more scriptural references in the note to show that it is just not one I am taking out here and there, but it is all the way through the Word exhorting us to remain separate. We need to examine the scriptures like the Bereans and check them out to see if these things are truth.
Romans 16:17-18;
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
These say a lot in themselves and really these are the ones causing division, those that bring another doctrine contrary to that which we have learned. Sister Connie, you will go on to share about people involved in this that are doing so and how we are to separate from these. They might say good things, fair speeches, but they are deceiving the simple, away from the simplicity that is in Christ’s message of truth that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again after three days and that we are to repent and believe this truth to be saved. We are not to add to or have this idea that we are to change the world. Jesus Christ will come and deal with all this in His time and His way according to scripture.
I will just share one more Scripture and leave the rest for the notes.
Revelation 18:4;
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
We must not be contaminated by the error and are to remain separate; that little leaven when it gets in ruins the whole batch. We are to keep our eyes on Jesus Christ alone. I pray that people will take the time to study the rest of the verses and examine everything because this for some people will be a matter of where will you be spending your eternity.
More Scriptures on separation - 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 2 Cor 11:1-4; Galatians 1:8-9; Ephesians 4:14-15; 5:11; Philippians 3:1-2; Colossians 2:8; 2 Thessalonians 3:6; 1 Timothy 1:3; 6:3-5; 6:20-21; 2 Timothy 2:16-21; 3:5,13; Titus 1:10-14; 3:9-11; 2 Peter 2:1-3; 3:17; 2 John 7-11; Jude 3; Revelation 2:2,6,14-16,20-23).
Thank you so much, sister Tammy.
I do want to spend a little time explaining Dominion Theology because the organizers of this event and all the speakers there ascribe to this ideology to one degree or another. This theology teaches that the gospel of salvation is achieved by setting up the "Kingdom of God" as a literal and physical kingdom to be "advanced" on Earth in this present age. Dominionists say that the Church will Christianize the world completely before Jesus can return to rule the world at His Second Coming. They use scriptures such as Gen. 1:26 and 28 to support their theology. However, Dominionists teach these verses of Scripture with such a different approach to the application intended in the Word of God. While the various groups that espouse this theology may have some differences, the same overall ideology is suggested, that the Church now has the authority to dominate the society, culture and government.
Attached to Dominion Theology is a teaching called the Seven Mountain Mandate. This actually is the means by which Dominion Theology is put into action. The origins of this mandate are as follows: In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. As the story goes, God simultaneously gave each of these change agents a message to give to the other. The message was that if we are to impact any nation for Jesus Christ, then we would have to affect the seven spheres, or mountains of society that are the pillars of any society. Today, Lance Wallnau is a major proponent of this teaching and he conducts seminars worldwide instructing people how to bring the Kingdom of God down into the sphere over which they have influence. These areas are government, education, religion, business, media, arts and entertainment, and family. According to Wallnau, God wants to partner supernaturally with you to bring you into “occupation” of new territory. A shift has occurred from a focus of just preaching the gospel of salvation to preaching a gospel of the Kingdom. Here is his definition of such: “The gospel of the Kingdom includes salvation and it shows you how to occupy material territory now; addresses temporal issues; invades secular culture; adjusts the life that now is, and brings glory into the earth rather than waiting for the earth to die to go to heaven.” (And, people love this because it gives them something to do and feel important about: groups to join; marches to attend; donations to collect; causes to promote. But, the focus is not on Jesus and while they say this gospel of the Kingdom includes salvation we can easily see that Jesus is totally left out and the focus is on man. This is the social gospel in operation where man attempts to fix all the problems here and now, ignoring the fact the problems are caused by sin, and that man has no solution for sin in and of himself. The problem cannot provide the solution essentially). (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqHMopFI8HE At the 13:13 mark)
Now, I want to move on and discuss a video posted on Facebook on Oct. 8 of one of the services or whatever they are called. The last I checked this video had 296,000 views so we see a lot of people being impacted. (https://www.facebook.com/thecall/videos/10155913783098578/)
I want to mention some of what was said and give information concerning each of the main speakers. Here are a few statements from the very beginning: “We’re going to make some proclamations… Shofar players are going to shake the foundations of this city!...We proclaim tonight the beginning of the greatest awakening in America!... We proclaim a new Jesus movement has begun across America!” (So, we have someone declaring that the greatest awakening in America has begun. Obviously this person doesn’t know that according to several scriptures in the Bible the Church in the last days will consist of many deceptions, false teachings, false Christians and false teachers, rather than a great end time revival or awakening. True believers will be on a narrow path (Matt. 7:14) and they will have only a little strength (Rev 3:8).
Additionally, the idea of proclamations being made shows the Word of Faith flavor of this event. Many Word of Faith beliefs can be traced back to New Thought metaphysics which teaches that the human mind through positive mental attitude and positive confession has the power to create its own reality. Well, people can positively confess a revival or great awakening all they want, but if the opposite is prophesied in God’s Word, we will not see a revival or awakening. It’s as simple as that!
The main organizer of this event was a man named David Bradshaw and he said, “I hear the sound of rain coming to America again. Thousands will be saved…America shall be saved.” (Again, with the proclamations. Will some in America hear the true gospel of salvation and be saved? Yes, but, it will not be as a result of the proclamation of this gospel of the Kingdom which so adds to the true gospel as to make it unrecognizable. And, true believers should not be interested in seeing the salvation of the institution of America. Jesus Christ is returning to crush these evil, earthly kingdoms and establish His Kingdom! You know, so many idolize this nation and it’s sickening. We do not give our allegiance to a country or a flag. We give our allegiance to Jesus Christ alone!)
Here is some information about David Bradshaw from the website of the ministry with which he is associated. (http://www.theprayerfurnace.org/content.cfm?id=149&member_id=21)
David is the Lead Pastor of Awakening Community Church and serves as the Director of the Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace in Fredericksburg, VA. Here is some information about the Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace also from the site: it is a missional community of believers serving as a house of prayer, a training center, and a local and global missions sending base. We don’t have time to discuss everything on their “vision” page, but this point especially stands out - “Training and releasing forerunners and revivalists who will proclaim Jesus in every sphere of culture and operate in supernatural demonstrations of the Kingdom of God.” (So, this is one of the 24/7 houses of prayer modeled after Mike Bickle’s International House of Prayer and they use the IHOP phrase “forerunner.” There actually are over 10,000 24/7 houses of prayer across the United States now so we can definitely see the influence IHOP has had. And, then, we see the phrase, “proclaim Jesus in every sphere of culture,” which shows they have fully adopted the 7MM ideology).
Continuing with the information about David; he has been in full-time ministry since 2005. He carries a message of spiritual hunger, worship and prayer, the knowledge of God, and the urgency of the hour. His life labor is for a Third Great Awakening to be birthed in America through day and night prayer and mission, and that a victorious church would arise in our nation in the fullness of her destiny. (Wow, how sad is that? His life labor is for a Third Great Awakening to be birthed in America and so forth. It is heartbreaking to think this man is a pastor and is unaware of the fact that the Bible does not speak of a great end time revival as we’ve already mentioned).
Additionally, I watched a video called “Awaken the Dawn: The Story” featuring David Bradshaw. He describes a time he had a big tent “revival” service and Bob Jones was there and prophesied that he was going to be part of tent cities in America. The youth of America are going to gather. It’s like a Holy Spirit Woodstock. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4Qaji8qPC8)
(Well, isn’t it interesting that the Charisma news article we read from at the beginning of the discussion didn’t mention Bob Jones, but just said a “elder brother” prophesied a Holy Spirit Woodstock? Considering the debauchery associated with Woodstock, the use of the phrase coming from Bob Jones makes a lot of sense due to the fact that “in 1991, Jones was removed from ministering in a Vineyard church after confessing to sexual misconduct with two women. This misconduct included encouraging the women to undress in his office “so they could stand ‘naked before the Lord’ in order to receive a ‘word.’”) (http://www.spiritoferror.org/2014/02/nar-prophet-bob-jones-dies/4842)
So much could be said about Bob Jones. He was one of the Kansas City Prophets and had great influence on Mike Bickle and IHOP, but I have heard most of the major NAR leaders reference him as a mentor or “papa” to them. Here is a “prophecy” he gave at a Vineyard Conference in 1989:
"I have called the best of every blood line in earth unto this generation…I have elected to bring them forth in this generation…THE ELECT GENERATION…even the bloodline of Paul…of David…of Peter, James and John…They will even be superior to them in heart, stature and love for me’…Your children will possess the spirit without measure…They will move into things of the supernatural that no one has ever moved in before…coming into the DIVINE NATURE of Jesus Christ…a Church that has reached the full maturity of the GODMAN! This generation…is going to see the beginning of this WORLD WIDE NEW ORDER." (http://watch.pairsite.com/rain.html) (So, this gives us just an idea of the aberrant theology taught by Bob Jones).
David went on to discuss several friends of his who had dreams of a huge worship event on the national mall. He insisted this idea for Awaken the Dawn had to be from God because so many people had similar dreams. (However, believers know to try the spirits and not just assume all dreams are God’s instructions to start a movement of some sort, especially one that does not focus on preaching the gospel of salvation).
A few minutes later in the video David Bradshaw mentions the fact that the dates for this event just happened to fall in the middle of the Feast of Tabernacles. “That was when God told Israel to gather in tents,” David says. He also mentioned that this week is the 20th anniversary of Promise Keepers. (Well, the Feast of Tabernacles is one of the holydays from the Old Covenant and New Testament believers are not required to keep any of these holydays so there really is no significance as to the timing of the event. And, concerning Promise Keepers, that movement was started by a Catholic making it an ecumenical movement from its inception).
He went on to say before he married his wife she had a dream of an event being held at the National Mall and she saw the Lord Jesus walking among this worship movement. Then he said, “I believe that’s going to happen; I just really believe that Jesus is going to personally walk down our national mall.” (So, here is a really good time to say people need to stop attending any events until they pray and research the leadership of the events and all the connections. I mean seriously, people are saying all kinds of things these days; almost as if there’s a contest concerning who can say the most ridiculous thing).
Continuing with the other speakers, Lou Engle, who worked with David Bradshaw to organize Awaken the Dawn, spoke several times at each gathering. One statement was: “We’re in a birthing moment of a new Jesus movement…Let the latter rains of outpouring begin.” (Well, “birthing” is a popular catch phrase among those of the NAR. Someone is always “birthing” a new activity, movement, or event. Lou Engle is, of course, the head of “The Call” movement which he began in 1999 and involves bringing together tens of thousands of young people at a time for twelve hours of fasting and prayer to arenas, fields and stadiums. He is quite involved in ecumenism and most of the listeners would remember his feet-kissing display at Azusa Now with Catholic leader Matteo Calisi). (http://christiannews.net/2016/04/10/lou-engle-of-the-call-prostrates-himself-kisses-foot-of-catholic-leader-as-act-of-reconciliation/)
In addition, Lou Engle made a promotional video for Azusa Now in which he stated the following: “Hello, I’m Lou Engle and we’re hosting Azusa Now at the Memorial Coliseum on April 9th. We just want to welcome our Catholic brothers and sisters from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to gather together to pray…and, then, believing for a move of unity and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.” He also made an appearance at the Together 2016 event, again with Matteo Calisi. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsQMUtjVHPA)
Lou Engle also made a reference to Woodstock in a promotional video for “Awaken the Dawn.” He stated: “Woodstock had its day. But, this is day and night.” (https://vimeo.com/217923575 At the :54 mark) (Again, this seeming obsession with Woodstock is not a coincidence).
Another speaker was Nick Hall. He organized the Together 2016 event which was held in July of last year. The thing that should stand out in people’s minds the most concerning this event is how ecumenical it was. Nick even visited the pope, gave him a copy of his book “Reset” and a T-shirt with the Together logo on it. In turn, pope Francis made a video for the event and invited those watching to "find the One who can give you an answer to your restlessness," and encouraged everyone to wear the Together 2016 T-shirt. (https://www.christianpost.com/news/together-2016-pope-francis-urges-millennials-to-find-the-one-who-can-give-you-an-answer-to-your-restlessness-166598/)
Here are some of Nick Hall’s statements at Awaken the Dawn: “Can we make some noise for Jesus? God is on the move…Jesus is passing by right now…Is there anything between you and God today? Because I’m telling you, man, we know God wants to send revival. We know He wants to send a great awakening…Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life…Jesus died on the cross…” (So, we hear him make some true statements, but he also makes these false statements about a great awakening. And, this is often how Satan operates; he mixes dark with light so he can deceive even more people. Most people will say, oh, we heard Jesus died on the cross and it doesn’t matter to them what else someone says or does. You know, one could clearly see the Ouroboros tattoo on the inside of Nick’s arm as he was raising it and exhorting the crowd. For anyone who is unaware, Ouroboros is a Greek word meaning "tail devourer," and is one of the oldest mystical symbols in the world. I will have a link to an article about this in the notes on Facebook also). (https://www.tokenrock.com/explain-ouroboros-70.html)
Todd White also spoke. His ministry is called Lifestyle Christianity and his focus is on healings, signs, and wonders. Here is part of what he had to say at Awaken the Dawn: “Every sexually transmitted disease, we command to leave the field. Every addiction, get out right now, in Jesus’ Name. Bloodstreams, I command you be healed in Jesus’ Name. Hepatitis C, I curse you and command you, get out! Father, I thank You for every disease, every sickness, being healed right now in Jesus’ Name. I thank You for every scar, every cut, being healed right now in Jesus’ Name. We thank You for healing all over the field. We thank You for miracles all over the field, right now, right now.” Then the crowd repeated this several times. Then he said, “I want all of you to check your bodies physically. I want you to check your scars. If you are healed; if you felt heat sweep right through your body I want you to testify with both arms over your head right now.” (However, in order to tell if most of the sicknesses he mentioned were healed, a person would have to see a doctor. But, Todd expects the people to know because they have felt heat sweep through their bodies. We do not read of any such occurrence in God’s Word, but rather we do read of such heat sensations concerning kundalini awakenings in the occult). (https://www.themystica.com/mystica/articles/k/kundalini.html)
There are many videos and articles concerning Todd White’s false teachings, but an interview he conducted on TBN stands out. Todd says, “See, the cross to me isn't the revelation of my sin, the cross is actually the revealing of my value… How much did heaven pay? How much did Jesus pay to get us back?...The value of the person is determined by the price that was paid for it.” (https://www.facebook.com/trinitybroadcastingnetwork/videos/1019834738053055/ 1:19 mark) (Talk about confused and turning what Jesus came to do for us absolutely upside down).
At one of his events Todd White is onstage standing between two Catholic priests and they’re all holding hands. Todd White says this: “I believe that the Catholic church and the Christian church are going to come together.” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzk3AtoLsEI 19:59 mark) (One can’t make his or her ecumenical beliefs much clearer than that, can they?)
Another speaker was Shawn Bolz and the following is part of a biographical sketch about him at the Bethel TV website: (https://www.bethel.tv/speakers/show/74/shawn-bolz)
Shawn Bolz is passionate about seeing both individuals and groups become the best version of themselves. Shawn has been a pioneer in ministry, including the prophetic movement, since he was in his teens. His focus is on intimacy with God, creativity through entertainment and social justice. Shawn lives in Los Angeles, where he is involved as talent for the entertainment industry and is the Senior Pastor of Expression58 Church. (We see not a speck of the gospel of salvation in any of that).
And, here are just a few of his statements at Awaken the Dawn: “God wants to release His mind and His thoughts to us.” Then he called out two names, and said the couple was from CA. Then he gave them this “word of knowledge”: “What you’re doing in the house of prayer movement in Chico; it’s going to change a state. God’s giving you a governmental assignment over CA.” (So, he definitely ascribes to 7MM teachings).
And, to show his ecumenical bent, at one of his speaking engagements he was discussing contending for the deep relationship with Jesus and the knowledge of Him, not for the ministry performance driven life. He said, “I took a break from mystery at the age of 28 and I studied anybody in history who had that deep connection with God for the sake of connection…and I found them in the mystics in the Catholic church…I studied St. Teresa of Avila, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Catherine of Sienna, St. John of the Cross.” (https://www.facebook.com/GrahamCookeBBH/videos/10155262616193918/ 6:24 left)
Incidentally, and many of the listeners have probably heard about this – Shawn was part of Azusa 2016 and he delivered words of knowledge to the crowd which he read off his Iphone. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzdjsWjFRU0)
Two other well-known speakers at this event were Francis Chan and Heidi Baker. Francis Chan is a popular evangelical speaker, but he has chosen to link arms with Mike Bickle and has spoken at his IHOP conferences several times. These IHOP conferences are quite ecumenical with Catholics Matt Maher and Audrey Assad leading worship and the conference schedule including a Catholic track. (I watched a video the other day of one of the IHOP sessions in which Frances Chan said how much he appreciated Matt Maher’s stand on the Word of God. How sad and deceived is that?) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2muxxpAc-8 1:26:00 in)
Heidi Baker has been part of the NAR and the healing, signs and wonders movement since the 1990’s. We did a discussion on her not too long ago so I will include the link (https://www.facebook.com/tammy.cheetham.77/videos/267643840401998/) to that in the notes on Facebook. Since there is so much information about her in that discussion I will only mention one example of her ecumenism here. During one of her messages (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzk3AtoLsEI 9:55 and 10:19) she said she saw the following in a vision: “There is a net catching all these people and she mentions Catholics and then says only when you work together can you bring in the harvest. Also,“if they love Jesus, work together.” (And, we have heard that concept so many places, but it doesn’t make it Biblical).
Here is kind of a miscellaneous item I wanted to mention. A woman named Aimee Herd wrote an article for the Elijah List site entitled, “Awaken the Dawn Moved Us Forward!" (http://elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=18966 "Hannah Ford: Awaken the Dawn Moved Us Forward!" Aimee Herd, Breaking Christian News)
Here is a paragraph from the article: “Before Awaken the Dawn even began, I was blessed to attend the Senate Chaplain's Bible study and a special lunch. It was amazing! Chaplain Barry Black is the first African-American to serve as Senate Chaplain. Then a former Congressman's wife led a group of us into the House Chamber. It was surreal to be where lawmakers make decisions that impact our entire nation. I began to pray through some of the aisles and over the seats for those who sit in them. May they be moved by God's heart! Next, we got to worship and take communion in the Senate Chapel.” (However, Chaplain Barry Black is a 7th day Adventist. The article doesn’t say who else attended this meeting, but just as a side note, at least one-fourth of the Congress is Catholic, the last time I checked, so any prayer held with all of Congress present is an ecumenical event).
Now, as sad as this whole event was since Jesus was not truly lifted up, the organizers have plans that will extend far beyond this event.
At their website we find this statement: We will TENT AMERICA and we will tabernacle with the Lord and God’s power will be unleashed. (http://www.awakenthedawn.org/tent-america/)
2018-2019 VISION
In 2017 we have gathered as a family on the National Mall. In 2018 we will TENT AMERICA! On Columbus Day weekend 2018, Awaken The Dawn will spearhead four days of simultaneous tent gatherings in every state capital and numerous college campuses around America and in the nations. This will, once again, be unprecedented. We are going to flood America with worship, prayer, and the gospel. Thousands of souls will be reached in the massive, viral movement that has been birthed at Awaken The Dawn 2017 in DC!
In addition, we are excited to launch a school that will train emerging revivalists and will fuel the worship and unity movements around the nation and also equip college students to reach their campuses! (http://www.awakenthedawn.org/movement/)
(Well, I hope everyone can see that this event involved so much activity as with all the dominionist and social justice movements. You know, believers are merely told to preach the gospel and make disciples. I guess that isn’t exciting enough for some people, sad to say. We know that God’s Word says it is a narrow way and few there be that find it. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, not by decreeing and declaring a revival has come.
These groups are trying to speak a revival into existence; to actually impose revival on people, on the nation. Many people are embracing this because these groups bring a message of unity and people are tired of seeing the racial divides, the disunity all across this nation. However, all this false unity is laying the groundwork for the OWO as we often say. I pray people will wake up before it’s too late).
(Well, a few points that just jumped out to me while you were sharing is that God will not Christianize something that is unholy to make it holy and that the dominionist, Kingdom Now teachers always will state that the gospel of salvation is not sufficient and that to make it a complete gospel we need to preach the Kingdom message. They do not believe salvation from sin is sufficient and this tells us they are adding to the simplicity and making it another, and this is where we are to avoid. We know by looking at what these believe and what the Bible says are not consistent, so we avoid. Thank you, sister Connie, for sharing today and for your faithfulness. God bless you and have a good day).

Romans 16:17-18;
Revelation 18:4;
