Stacey Campbell – The Woman who Prophesied Pope Francis would be Pope
The following are the notes to the discussion found at this link (https://www.facebook.com/tammy.cheetham.77/videos/vb.100014691523242/259130541253328/?type=2&video_source=user_video_tab) for anyone who would like to study the subject more in depth.
Yes, we have been aware of who Stacey Campbell is due to some things she’s been involved with, but we never thought to discuss her specifically until we saw a video of her a few days ago in which she is recounting how she prophesied that pope Frances would become pope as you have stated, and we will get into that in a few minutes.
But, to begin, we would like to say she is very much involved in the NAR – New Apostolic Reformation. She is not as well-known as Bill Johnson or Mike Bickle or others, but as we describe some events she’s been involved with some of the listeners may be able to put a face with a name.
Note: Please refer to the discussion link above for sister Tammy’s comments about the NAR at this point…
And, as we continue through the discussion we will hear more of her involvement with the NAR. Here is a statement from her website at a link entitled, “prophetic-word-for-2016” which shows her belief in the 7 Mtn. mandate: She says, “The global crises are providing opportunities for believers to bring global solutions to the “seven mountains” of influence.”
Additionally, so there will not be any misunderstanding, we do believe the gifts are for today; we are not cessationists as we clearly explained in the two recent discussions concerning the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Similarly, we do believe in true signs and wonders. There are many places in God’s Word where these are mentioned and I want to read Acts 14:3 for just one example: “Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.” (Acts 13:46 shows that chapter 14 verse 3 is referring to Paul and Barnabas when it says “they.”But, someone might ask, well, how do we tell the difference between the true and the false? We know the beast mentioned in Rev. 13:13 calls fire down from heaven and people might think, well, Elijah did this so this has to be from God. But, whenever there is a sign or wonder, a person must follow the instructions given in Deut. 13:1-4 - Deuteronomy 13:1 “If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him”).
And, then I also want to read from Matthew concerning the attitude many have towards signs and wonders and Jesus’ response. Matt. 12:38-40 says: “Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”(There are many people who get so excited over seeing gold dust, for example. I have seen the videos. Sister Tammy, I know you have too, and I am sure many of the listeners have as well. We can see the excitement in people’s faces and that becomes the focus. Oh, of course, someone mentions Jesus to make sure the people will still think it has something to do with Christianity, but the focus is so off, it becomes idolatrous).
Now, I want to go ahead and discuss the video in which she describes how she prophesied that pope Frances would be the next pope. There is much to discuss from the video before that point that is important to understand as well.
The video is entitled “Stacey Campbell - Unity, Pope Francis & Prophecy.” There are at least 2 videos with her prophecy and maybe more. But, at the beginning she states that 12 years previously she was invited to the Vatican with Catholics and non-denominational leaders to discuss the divisions in the church world (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=35&v=yRDUHVmXTQo&feature=emb_logo) (Now, this was published on Youtube in 2016 and later we do learn her prophecy was spoken in 2007).
She said that in preparation she read much of the Catholic catechism because she wanted to know what Catholics believed since they would be discussing theology and doctrine. She read what they believed about Mary; about salvation, and said honestly it was one of the most precise theological synopses she had ever read.
She said she attended a Baptist seminary and loves God’s Word. But, also that much of what she had been taught in Reformed Theology about Catholicism wasn’t even true. (Well, let’s stop here for a few moments and discuss some of these catechisms and see why any discerning believer would definitely have problems with them).
Catechism #1405 asserts that Christ’s work on the cross was not finished, but rather ongoing: “There is no surer pledge or dearer sign of this great hope in the new heavens and new earth "in which righteousness dwells," than the Eucharist. Every time this mystery is celebrated, "the work of our redemption is carried on" and we "break the one bread that provides the medicine of immortality, the antidote for death, and the food that makes us live for ever in Jesus Christ." (However, God's Word teaches the Lord Jesus Christ appeared once to do away with sin then entered the holy place once for all having obtained eternal redemption (Heb. 9:12, 26). When Jesus cried out "It is finished" the curtain of the temple was torn open giving believers access to God (Mat. 27:51). There was no longer any need for priests offering the same sacrifices repeatedly, which can never take away sins (Heb. 10:11). His one offering made perfect forever those who are sanctified; there are no more offerings for sin (Heb. 10:14, 18). So this catechism is teaching major error).
Catechism 846 states the Roman Catholic Church is necessary for salvation: "Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation. (And, when they say “the Church” they absolutely only mean the Catholic church as we can tell by the fact that at the Council of Trent they pronounced anathemas on anyone who believes in justification by faith alone and this also specifically says Catholic after a couple more sentences). Continuing, the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it."
Next we have: the Forgiveness of sins, and salvation, is by faith and works according to Catechism 2068 which reads: “The Council of Trent teaches that the Ten Commandments are obligatory for Christians and that the justified man is still bound to keep them; the Second Vatican Council confirms: "The bishops, successors of the apostles, receive from the Lord . . . the mission of teaching all peoples, and of preaching the Gospel to every creature, so that all men may attain salvation through faith, Baptism and the observance of the Commandments. (Well, I hope the listeners remember this catechism the next time there is an article about another denomination signing the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification, the document many insist proves Catholics believe justification by faith alone now).
Catechism 1498 is one of several that show their belief in indulgences and Purgatory: "Through indulgences the faithful can obtain the remission of temporal punishment resulting from sin for themselves and also for the souls in Purgatory." (However, true believers know that both indulgences and purgatory negate the work of Christ on the cross).
There are many false doctrines concerning Mary found in the catechisms, but here are just a few:
Mary is Mediatrix, Catechism 969, "Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix.'" (However, Mary was a sinner in need of a Savior just like the rest of mankind and we know Jesus is our Mediator according to 1 Tim. 2:5)
Mary brings us the gifts of eternal salvation, Catechism 969, "Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation…" (The Bible does not indicate that those in heaven are aware of events on earth so Mary would not be interceding and she has not been placed in that role anyway. Additionally, she does not bring us gifts of eternal salvation because Jesus paid it all).
Mary delivers souls from death, Catechism 966, "…You [Mary] conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death." (You know, it’s really quite ridiculous how a religion claiming to be Christian takes so much of the focus off Christ, even to the point of saying that Mary’s prayers will deliver us from death).
Now, there are many, many more examples of unbiblical teachings in the catechisms, but these should help the listener understand that a true believer who had read the catechisms would never say they were the most precise theological synopses they had ever read, but would rather be exposing them as false.
Continuing with the video, she said she went to the meetings at the Vatican and it was helpful to meet Catholics face to face who loved Jesus with all their heart. (But, here is the odd thing about what she is saying about the catechisms and meeting Catholics. I just watched a video this morning, and you have watched it as well, sister Tammy, in which she says she was raised Catholic! She is making these statements as if she had never received any teaching concerning the catechisms and had never met any Catholics. So, as I said, this is quite odd, to say the least. But, the fact she was raised Catholic, and apparently wasn’t ever taught the errors in Catholicism after coming away, means she wouldn’t have hesitated when asked to attend the meeting at the Vatican. But, as we have explained in many discussions and in articles on our website, Catholics have another Jesus. So, Stacey Campbell can say the Catholics she met loved Him with all their hearts, but as we have just read from these catechisms, they don’t even know He alone is the Saviour).
She said she met Matteo Calisi (some of the listeners may remember he is the one who kissed Lou Engle’s feet at Azusa 2016). She said she had a prayer meeting in Brazil and invited Calisi to come on behalf of Catholics. This created no small stir. She even had somebody say to her if you invite a Catholic to a prayer meeting you could ruin your whole ministry in Brazil. So, she took it to the Lord in prayer and asked him if she was doing the right thing, or if she was committing the sin of presumption and might truly ruin her ministry there. Then she says the Lord spoke to her very clearly, in an audible voice: “Stacey, you don’t have a ministry in Brazil.”(Well, the Bible records God speaking audibly to people many times. However, even before they had the scriptures, God speaking audibly was the exception, not the rule. Today, we are privileged to have God’s Word and 2 Tim. 3:16-17 says,“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” We also have the Holy Spirit to guide us according to John 16:13. Additionally, in Luke 1:3-4 we read: “It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.” And, anyone reading Luke and the rest of the Bible today can know the certainty of these things).
Continuing, Calisi invited her to an ecumenical event concerning John 17 in Argentina in 2007. (We have shared about people using John 17 as an excuse to establish false unity before, but sister Tammy speaks more about this event also recorded in the link at the beginning of these notes).
At this event, Cardinal Bergoglio (which was the pope’s title before he became pope Francis) read the following from Phil. 2. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
Stacey Campbell said, as he’s reading this, she has one of the top spiritual experiences of her life. The only analogous thing she could describe it would be like the mount of transfiguration. The stadium lit up. She was caught up in the spirit and heard the audible voice of God: “These are not just words on a page to this man. This is his whole life.” Stacey asked Matteo Calisi if Cardinal Bergoglio could pray for her. Calisi misunderstood and thought she wanted to pray for Cardinal Bergoglio. She repeated what God had just told her, and the rest of Phil 2 came to mind – “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.” She said the Lord said: “Because you’ve so humbled yourself I am going to highly exalt you and give you the highest name in the Catholic church and you will be the next pope.”
And, as the video concludes, she says, “As God is my witness there is an amazing thing happening in the Catholic church. God himself has chosen the leader for this hour in pope Francis because of his humility. (Now, the people in the audience where she was telling this were just amazed and you could hear the oohs and aahs coming from them. But, just because something is prophesied and it comes to pass, does it mean God gave the person the prophecy? God did obviously allow it to happen, because we know where everything is going as far as false unity is concerned. Pope Francis doesn't teach that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. He promotes universalism and has been working hard to unite all faiths.
She says there is an amazing thing happening in the Catholic church and God has chosen the leader for the hour in pope Frances, but Catholicism is a false, pagan religion and Satan is its head. Satan is the one directing the cardinals of the Catholic church and he obviously led them to choose this man.
We have an example of the spirit of divination in Acts 16:16-18 and I would like to read those verses: “And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.” (Now this girl was speaking the truth, but Paul still commanded the spirit to come out. Paul did not want people listening to anyone who had a spirit of divination because this is an evil spirit masquerading as light. Think of how many people might start following Stacey’s Campbell’s ministry once they hear of this prophecy and since she is a false teacher many more can be deceived).
Now, I want to mention some biographical information from a website called Alabaster group. I specifically gave the information from the video first to make the point that we often hear something, just believe it, and never bother to check the person out. I see a similar concept all the time on Facebook. There are some fake sites out there with ridiculous stories and people share them and everyone goes, “Wow!” never realizing the entire story was a ruse. Another example is two websites I know of that give excellent warnings about the NAR and the Word of Faith, but those running the websites are Calvinists. So, a person might learn to recognize the errors in one group and be deceived by the errors in another group.
But, on to the biographical information now: Stacey Campbell is a prophetic voice to the world from God, and one of her callings is to walk with the next generation. She desires to help believers grow in their intimacy with the Lord to hear His voice. She and her husband Wesley are senior pastors of New Life Church in Kelowna, B.C., Canada, and founders of RevivalNOW! Ministries and "Be A Hero", a ministry that cares for children around the world suffering due to poverty, slavery, sexual exploitation, plagues, and war. A side note is that her husband is co-author of “Be a Hero: The Battle for Mercy and Social Justice.”(This description is quite telling in that we hear no mention of them preaching the gospel of salvation. Rather, we can see they promote the social gospel. And, as we have said many times, Christians will help others as they have opportunity, but this cannot be the focus. We will never eradicate all the ills in society because they are caused by sin and man cannot change the heart from which the evil, sinful desires flow!)
Continuing with the biography: Growing up, she had no idea of the God who loves us so much until when she was five years old, in a dream, Jesus appeared to her and spoke audibly to her, saying, "Christ has died, Christ has risen, and Christ will come again." (Well, we have all kinds of people out there saying Jesus appeared to them and He spoke audibly, but they are the ones not preaching the true gospel of salvation. And, someone might think this truly was Jesus because she heard “Christ has died, Christ has risen, and Christ will come again” and isn’t this the absolute truth? But, we heard from the video I just referred to that she heard this phrase every week at mass! And, we know Satan is a master at including some truth in with all his false teaching so he can deceive even more people. Also we should note that in this video she referred to this as a mystical experience).
The biography goes on to say that at 16 years old, upon realizing she couldn't make any sense of the Bible, she came home one day, and in her room, began meditating upon the Word, day and night). (Now, at this point we must say wait a minute, you’ve been raised Catholic and openly admit you can’t make any sense of the Bible? But, yet you say the catechisms are the most precise theological synopses ever. So, we see in action one of the points we often make that Catholics hold their own traditions higher than the Bible. And, interestingly enough as well, from the same video we learn that at the age of 16 she gave her life to Jesus. She said someone really started opening the Bible and unpacking it to her; showing her how she could have personal faith in Jesus, and she wanted to not be distant, but her big thing was evolution. (Like a stumbling block). Then, she said she was on a ski trip and she was thinking about each tree producing after its kind, each flower, and so forth. So she decided she didn’t believe in evolution. And then,at the end of the day, in front of a tree she got down on her knees and gave her life to Jesus. Not to be unkind, but where is the repentance; where is the recognition of being a sinner and needing a Saviour? And, if this was part of it, why didn’t she say so?).
Then, one time in college, while praying the Bible, she had an extraordinary encounter with God's Presence: the whole room began to glow with light, and she had an out-of-body experience. She flew with Jesus over the Earth, and He showed her many nations and peoples of different colors and then said, "I am Lord of the nations. I am Lord of you, and I want you to marry Wesley." (Sometimes there are just no words. I mean sometimes these tales are just so crazy. All I can say is I pray for people to stop being so gullible).
And, then the biography finishes by saying: Stacey and her husband Wesley live in Kelowna, B.C., Canada, with their five children, where they also are the senior pastors of New Life Church. She is the author of “Ecstatic Prophesy” and “Praying the Bible”.
Next, I want to mention Stacy Campbell's Prophecy about Todd Bentley
This was given in Lakeland, FL, in June of 2008, during the commissioning of Todd Bentley by all the NAR bigwigs. She prophesied publicly on GodTV that Todd Bentley would be a “first fruits” of a generation that would walk both in the anointing and the glory of God. This was only a month and a half before his separation from his wife, Shonnah. Then the news came out that he was divorcing his wife and marrying a woman who was on his staff during the revival. Obviously people can fall into sin, but if Stacey Campbell was a true prophetess she would never have prophesied as she did over Todd Bentley. She did make a statement concerning this prophecy which read: “I would like to acknowledge, that although Todd Bentley began his ministry this way, he has not finished his race this way. I am truly sorry for any confusion my prophecy may have brought to the Body of Christ.” And, this isn’t exactly owning up to the fact that your prophecy was wrong. But, I want to address something else and that is the violent shaking of her head that occurs when she prophesies. Anyone watching the video of this prophecy will see that her head shakes while she is speaking; then it stops while she reads from Bible; and then starts up again as she speaks. All I am thinking as I watch this is she is going to have some severe neck pain. But, really, the fact is there are no examples of anything like this in the Bible when people prophesied. But, if we research the Kundalini spirit we find that involuntary jerks, tremors, shaking are part of one of the descriptions associated with Kundalini. This is a description of kundalini at the Wikipedia site: refers to a form of primal energy (or shakti) said to be located at the base of the spine. Different spiritual traditions teach methods of "awakening" kundalini for the purpose of reaching spiritual enlightenment and a range of supernormal powers. And, of course, any such beliefs or practices should not be part of the life of a true believer.
I also want to mention that she spoke at the 20th anniversary of the Toronto revival. Her head is also violently shaking during this time, so much so that her husband comes up to stand beside her and reaches out to catch her if she falls. I was searching for something else and came upon this comment concerning her head shaking so: “The interesting thing about this is that though her mouth is turning toward and away from the microphone rapidly, there is no ascension nor diminishing of the sound of her voice. This is un-natural. Being the son of a sound man I know a lot about mics, modulation, singing too close to the mic and being too far from it. I know that the slightest movement of the mic will cause your voice to lose volume in amplifiers. Bringing it too close makes the speakers fuzzy. None of this is recorded while she “prophesies.”(I thought that was quite interesting).
And, this is the main part of what she said at this 20th anniversary. And, just to mention that Bill Johnson, CheAhn and Randy Clark were there on the front row.
She said that when she was 27 the Lord told her the greatest move of God would not be her generation, but the one that followed after. They would do signs, they would do wonders, they would change nations. They would change society and society would not change them. And, there is a movement of reformation coming and the power of God is going to hit the low places; justice movements are going to spring up all over the world; and make the low places high; righteousness is going to move into corrupt governments. Brazil get ready. A wave of my holiness and a wave of my reformation power is coming to Brazil and many other nations, too. Because the low places will be made high and the high places will be made low for that generation that prepares the way for the coming of the Lord. (And, this is pretty much the same type of thing the young people are hearing at IHOP and also at the Bethel school of Supernatural Ministry. It has elements of the Joel’s Army, Latter Rain, and Manifest Sons theologies).
In June of 2016 Stacey Campbell joined a group of NAR leaders and traveled to Rome to meet the pope. The group included Mike Bickle of IHOP, Kris Vallotton who is the Senior Associate Leader at Bill Johnson’s Bethel Church, CheAhn, a major apostle in the NAR, and others. (Of course, we have seen Rick Warren, Kenneth Copeland, James Robison, and Joel Osteen, just to mention a few of the heavyweights. It certainly seems as if everyone is in a mad rush to become buddies with the pope, sad to say.
Then at Stacey Campbell’s Facebook page I found a short video of her at the Golden Jubilee Opening ceremony on Pentecost weekend. She said, 50 years ago today the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Catholic Church. Today there are 300 million Spirit-filled Catholics. (Well, sister Tammy, we did a lot of research for the two discussions we had concerning the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and we can strongly say there are not 300 million Holy Spirit-filled Catholics because He is the Spirit of Truth (John 16:33) and He always glorifies Jesus (vs. 34 of this chapter). Since Catholics are in tremendous error and they have another Jesus, they cannot be baptized in the Holy Spirit).
You know, many people think it’s judgmental or it’s mean to expose these false teachers, but as we have discussed before there are many scriptures exhorting us to do so, such as Rom. 16:17. And, we very often quote 2 Cor. 11:14 - “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light” to show one of the devices Satan uses to deceive. But, I think we also need to quote verses 13 and 15 more often concerning these false teachers: “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
Well, sister Tammy, that is all I have at this time.
Note: She says God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh and this means everybody, even unbelievers. But, as we discussed recently in the two discussions on the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, false believers cannot be baptized in the Holy Spirit because He is the Spirit of Truth (John 16:33) and He always glorifies Jesus (vs. 34 of this chapter). Since Catholics are in tremendous error and they have another Jesus, they cannot be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Similarly, unbelievers are in error and they don’t know Jesus at all so they could not be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
