FALLING AWAY OR GREAT REVIVAL?
READING TIME: 5 MINUTES
The last days will witness false apostles, false prophets, false teachers, scoffers, mockers, perilous times, and evil men waxing worse and worse.
True believers will be on a narrow path (Matt. 7:14). There is no indication we should expect a Revival/Third Great Awakening.
Please consider the following scriptures:
False apostles - 2 Cor. 1:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
False prophets - Matt. 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Vs. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Matt. 7:15-23 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
False teachers - 2 Tim. 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Scoffers - 2 Pet. 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts.
Mockers - Jude 17-18 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Perilous times and evil men waxing worse and worse - 2 Timothy 3:1-4, 13 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
Now, with these scriptures as a background, let us turn to some recent examples of those in the modern church world believing for a great revival.
From Oct. 24-26 an event called “Kairos 2017: So the World Will Know Him” was held in Kansas City, MO. The website billed this event as: “Unity & Revival: Come & Experience this Pivotal Event in History where Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox Leaders set aside their differences to reconcile 500 years of Forgiveness.”
At the 2:13:58 point of this video of one of the sessions (https://www.facebook.com/UnitedInChrist8/videos/1437007779745691/) we hear Mike Bickle say the following: “At 2 pm we’re all going to meet there (IHOP prayer room). And, we’re going to have a three-hour cry out to the Lord, and prophesy, and declare, and ask the Lord for a spirit of unity, of revelation, of power. We’re believing for a Third Great Awakening in this nation.
Now, I have no way of knowing how many of the following people actually went to this particular prayer meeting, but here is a list of some of the most well-known speakers at this three-day event, and we could safely assume most were at this meeting since they attended the conference:
Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, Che Ahn, Kenneth Copeland, John Arnott, Mike Bickle, Wesley and Stacey Campbell, Jim Cavnar, Bonnie Chavda, Larry Christenson, Lou Engle, Rabbi Mark Kinzer, Gordon Robinson, Dutch Sheets, Vinson Synan, Dr. Billy Wilson, Matteo Calisi, and Bruno Ierullo.
And, then a second example, on Sunday morning, Nov. 5, at Jimmy Swaggart Ministry’s Family Worship Center, Don George, one of the Executive General Presbyters of the AOG, said the following: “I believe God has a plan for America. You’re either believing God for revival or a falling away.”

Now to be clear, on a daily basis individuals around the world are repenting and calling on Jesus for salvation, but rather than witnessing a revival of immense proportions, perilous times, evil waxing worse and worse, and a great falling away have been prophesied.
I pray for people to get into God’s Word like never before; to stop following man so you won’t be deceived; to come away from these ministries leading you down a false path.
